Kind to the planet

Making sure that my processes and products are kind to the planet and its inhabitants drive every decision I make. I realise that by creating new products I am inevitably impacting our planet. But by using and handling these resources mindfully and respectfully, I can minimise that impact, for example, I always make sure that I have minimal waste from the making process and I filter my wastewater to be reused for a next application. In regards to the packaging, I use only 100% plastic free that is reused, recycled, recyclable or biodegradable.

Equally, I strongly believe in giving back and showing gratitude towards this amazing planet for providing us with all the recourses we need. So I am very proud to say that Mono & Lena has partnered up with JUST ONE Tree, a non for profit organisation focused on reversing biodiversity loss through global reforestation. For every order, £1 is donated to JOT and £1 plants 1 tree.

Form & function

One thing I’ve learned from being a shoe designer is that function is just as important as form. There’s nothing worse than walking around in a beautiful pair of shoes that fits absolutely uncomfortably… functional home accessories are not that different. When designing, I always start with an idea around the aesthetics, and from there I then figure out how to add multiple ways of using the home accessories. I love giving you multiple options so you can get the most out of your Mono & Lena pieces.

Harmonious colour palettes

My colour palettes are not directly inspired by the latest trends, but instead, the colours are carefully considered to work together in harmony so they can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content. I also offer custom colours at no extra cost if you’re looking for a specific hue to fit your interior and taste, please email me to enquire.

Made to last

My designs are created with functionality and longevity to ensure the accessories stand the test of time. The collections are inspired by a clean, no-fuss aesthetic where colour & texture create interest and tactility. Each piece is individually hand-cast in my home studio in Kent, and although looking very similar, no two pieces are the same. Every item is made with the same level of detail & attention. Jesmonite, the material I use, is extremely durable and impact-resistant, meaning that my accessories can be enjoyed for a very long time.

Supporting small & local

To give you the full package, I also offer products to complement my home accessories like candles and smudge sticks. I find these items by carefully sourcing them from other UK small businesses that share my values and passion. So you can be assured that the products you purchase from me are made with the same care and at the same time support our small business community.
